Every AutoExpertsHub calculator runs in your browser using the numbers you enter plus a small set of published reference figures. Nothing you type is sent to us or stored. This page explains the formula and the data source behind each tool, so you can check the math yourself.
Our Principles
- Your inputs come first. Default values are only a starting point. Replace them with your own figures for the most accurate result.
- Standard formulas. We use the same formulas lenders, the EPA and the IRS use, not a proprietary black box.
- Dated reference data. Where a tool uses outside data (interest rates, premiums, tax rates, IRS mileage rates), the source and date are shown on the calculator page and reviewed at least every three months.
- Estimates, not quotes. Results are for planning and comparison. A lender, insurer, dealer or tax office will give you the final figure.
Calculator by Calculator
Car Payment Calculator
Uses the standard loan amortization formula: Payment = P × r × (1 + r)n ÷ ((1 + r)n − 1), where P is the amount financed (vehicle price minus down payment and trade-in), r is the monthly interest rate (APR ÷ 12) and n is the number of monthly payments. Average rates by credit score come from Experian’s State of the Automotive Finance Market report (Q2 2026).
Auto Loan Calculator Texas
Same amortization formula, plus the 6.25% Texas motor vehicle sales tax, the standard presumptive value (SPV) rule for private-party sales, and title and registration fees as published by the Texas Comptroller and TxDMV.
Tag, Title & Tax Calculator Oklahoma
Applies Oklahoma excise tax, sales tax, registration (tag) fees by vehicle age and EV/PHEV fees using Oklahoma Tax Commission and Service Oklahoma rates as of September 2026.
Car Insurance Cost Calculator
Starts from average full-coverage premiums by state (Insurance.com 2026 rate data from Quadrant Information Services) and adjusts them for the driver profile and coverage you choose. It shows a typical price range, not a quote. Your actual premium depends on the insurer’s own rating factors.
Fuel Cost Calculator
Fuel cost = distance ÷ fuel economy (MPG) × price per gallon. For metric units: distance × (L/100 km ÷ 100) × price per liter. For the most realistic result, use your car’s combined rating from fueleconomy.gov (or your own real-world average) and a current local gas price. National average prices are published weekly by the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Commute Cost Calculator and Car Comparison Calculator
Both apply the fuel-cost formula above. The commute tool multiplies your round-trip distance by your commuting days to give daily, monthly and yearly costs. The comparison tool runs the same distance for two vehicles and shows the difference in fuel spend.
IRS Mileage Rate 2026 Calculator
Deduction = business miles × IRS standard mileage rate, with 2026 miles split between the rate for the first half of the year and the higher rate the IRS set for the second half. Rates come from IRS standard mileage rate announcements.
Totaled Car Value Calculator
Estimates actual cash value (ACV) and compares repair cost with your state’s total-loss threshold. Thresholds are compiled from public sources and can change, so confirm the current rule with your insurer or your state’s Department of Insurance.
0-60 Calculator
Estimates acceleration from power-to-weight ratio, with separate adjustments for drivetrain losses and elevation. Real times vary with tires, surface, temperature and launch technique.
Car Depreciation Calculator
Starts from an average value curve calibrated to the iSeeCars five-year depreciation study (41.8% average loss after five years in 2026), then scales it by vehicle type (trucks 34.2%, hybrids 35.4%, EVs 57.2%, SUVs about 45%) and by the resale reputation you choose. Mileage is compared with the U.S. average of about 12,200 miles a year, and the value moves about 0.45% for every 1,000 miles above or below it. Condition changes the result by +5% to −25%, and an accident on the history report subtracts about $500 (minor) or $2,100 (severe), based on CARFAX data. Real selling prices depend on the exact model, trim, location and market.
